M.A.R.E. is a non-profit that serves over 50 riders each week and has a herd of 10 horses that require daily care. Many of the daily needs for our riders' lessons and horse care are provided by a committed group of volunteers. You do not have to have horse experience, we will train you.

Volunteer Details:
M.A.R.E. Therapeutic Riding Center is currently looking for volunteers age 14+ for their 2025 Sessions. We are in need of 6 volunteers per day (Monday-Friday), for a few hours or more between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Must like children, horses, and all things associated with the outdoors. Be physically able to sweep, pick up manure, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Office Assistance: Paperwork and filing
Bereavement Program: Mailing cards, Making phone calls
Patient Companionship: Sitting and visiting with patient, Spending time with patient while caregiver is away, Cooking dinner, yard work, helping with social activities at nursing homes/assisted living facilities. AND MANY OTHER OPPORTUNTIES!

The Mission of the Ronald McDonald House is a place where families of Kern County pediatric or NICU patients can go to take a break from the hospital environment. It serves as a "home away from home" that gives the non-hospitalized part of the family a sense of normalcy in a time when their world is upside down. Keeping families close to each other and the care they need is a goal of the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Duties include: Food Sorting; Giving away food; Assisting with sign ups; Assisting with parking lit, directing cars through food lines
