HICAP Counselor Volunteers

Volunteer Details:
HICAP Counselors provide assistance with understanding of Medicare benefits, rights and options. These Counselors receive extensive intial training to learn the insurance ins and outs of Medicare and undergo an internship with seasoned Counselors. After completion of the training, a commitment of 12 volunteering hours per month will be required.  
- Cannot hold current license to sell insurance or those who receive financial or other remuneration from any health insurer are not eligible to become a HICAP Counselor

Companionship Volunteers, Office Volunteers

When: Now, Ongoing

Where: Variable, Traditions Health

Volunteer Details:
Traditions Health has opportunities in the following areas:

Office Assistance: Paperwork and filing

Bereavement Program: Mailing cards, Making phone calls

Patient Companionship: Sitting and visiting with patient, Spending time with patient while caregiver is away, Cooking dinner, yard work, helping with social activities at nursing homes/assisted living facilities. AND MANY OTHER OPPORTUNTIES!
- Must be 18 years or older

BAKERSFIELD PICKLEBALL OPEN BENEFITING THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

PICKLEBALL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

When: Thursday, March 2nd (5pm-9pm) for set up

                   Friday, March 3rd (6pm-9pm) to help with the events

                   Saturday, March 4th (7am-12pm or 12pm-4pm or whole shift) to help with tournament

Organization Information:
The Mission of the Ronald McDonald House is a place where families of Kern County pediatric or NICU patients can go to take a break from the hospital environment. It serves as a "home away from home" that gives the non-hospitalized part of the family a sense of normalcy in a time when their world is upside down. Keeping families close to each other and the care they need is a goal of the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House.
