KEEP KERN COUNTY COOL FAN DRIVE

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17TH 7AM-5PM

This year our event will be held at KGET TV 17 Compassion Corner located at 2120 L Street. Our goal each year is to collect fans for seniors in our community that cannot afford the cost of utilizing their air conditioners during the extreme heat that we experience in our valley. Many of those that apply for this program have health challenges that are further complicated by the temperatures and often result in becoming hospitalized due to their inability to stay cool. Since, 2001, we have distributed more than 17,500 fans to our community’s most vulnerable population. Last year we gave over 550 fans to seniors in need.

Here's how you (Bakersfield) can help. Purchase fan(s) or give a monetary donation to help purchase fans during our Fan Drive to make sure we don’t have to turn down any senior that calls in their application. If you or your business would like to donate please drop off your donation during our Collection Day.

If you are a senior age 60 + you can call in your application starting June 17th. You can pick up your fan at on Friday, June 19th during a drive-thru pick up from 8am-11am. The senior will show their I.D. to match their application and drive out with a fan on our Distribution Day – June 19th.
